I was thinking of you today--it's somen weather, for sure. Though tabouli would hit the spot as well (if only I could get someone else to cook the bulgur for me--there's no way I'm going near the stove voluntarily!).

And hey, you know how to make oyaki? My god, I love those things. Haven't had one in nearly nine years (sigh).

You had me laughing at the lentil loaves and cheese-laden casseroles. Too true, too true.

Fortunately my tabouleh-making was quite done by the time the hot weather started... In fact, although I made some mori-soba and a few side dishes recently I haven't been cooking a lot this week.

Soumen would have been nice. But watermelon carpaccio at an overheated Oliver's Twist almost did the trick.
